HUBUNGAN BURNOUT DENGAN PERILAKU CARING PERAWAT DI RUANG RAWAT INAP RSUD AJIBARANG
Abstract
Nurse caring behavior is essential for fostering a harmonious relationship between nurses and patients. Low levels of caring behavior can be influenced by burnout, a syndrome that arises due to unmanaged chronic work-related stress. Research objective: To investigate the correlation between burnout and caring behavior among nurses in the inpatient ward of Ajibarang Hospital. Methods: The research design employs a correlational approach with a cross-sectional design. Non-probability sampling was used to select a total of 44 nurses as participants. The Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) and Caring Behaviors Inventory I (CBI) questionnaires were utilized, and Spearman's Rank analysis was performed. Results revealed that the majority of respondents were between 31-40 years old (59.1%), predominantly female (75.0%), holding a diploma as their highest educational background (56.8%), and having worked for more than 5 years (68.2%). The findings indicated that the highest percentage of burnout fell into the medium category, with 39 respondents (88.6%), while the highest percentage of caring behavior was classified as good, with 22 respondents (50.0%). The Spearman's rank test indicated no significant relationship between burnout and caring behavior among nurses, with a p-value of 0.076 and a cc of 0.324, signifying a weak correlation. In conclusion, there is no statistically significant relationship between burnout and caring behavior among nurses in the inpatient ward of Ajibarang Hospital.
