PERAN HOTEL BINTANG 5 DALAM MENDORONG PARIWISATA BERKELANJUTAN DI NUSA DUA, BALI
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the role of five-star hotels in promoting sustainable tourism in the Nusa Dua area. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, with data collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. Informants were selected using purposive sampling, consisting of hotel managers, operational staff, and tourism stakeholders. The findings reveal that five-star hotels play a strategic role in implementing sustainable tourism practices through environmental initiatives such as energy efficiency, waste management, and water conservation, as well as contributing to socio-economic aspects through local community empowerment and corporate social responsibility programs. However, the implementation still faces several challenges, including low tourist participation, high expectations of luxury services, and limited integration among stakeholders at the destination level. This study highlights the importance of stronger collaboration among hotels, government, and local communities to achieve sustainable and competitive tourism development.
