PERAN KEARIFAN LOKAL DALAM PELESTARIAN UMA LENGGE SEBAGAI DESTINASI PARIWISATA BUDAYA DI DESA MARIA
Abstract
This study aims to examine the role of local wisdom in the preservation of Uma Lengge as a cultural tourism destination in Maria Village, Wawo District, Bima Regency. Uma Lengge is a traditional house of the Mbojo Tribe that has high historical, architectural, and spiritual value. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method while data is collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that local wisdom values such as mutual cooperation (lempa ro wura), customary deliberation (mbolo ro weki), and belief in ancestors play an important role in the maintenance, preservation, and utilization of Uma Lengge in the context of tourism. Local wisdom is also reflected in the selection of natural building materials, community involvement in cultural and tourism activities, and participatory tourism management. This study concludes that the preservation of Uma Lengge not only maintains cultural heritage, but also supports the development of sustainable tourism that is oriented towards local identity and community empowerment.
