ANALISIS MINAT SISWA SMKN 4 MATARAM JURUSAN PERHOTELAN DALAM MEMENUHI KEBUTUHAN TENAGA KERJA DI INDUSTRI PARIWISATA KOTA MATARAM
Abstract
This research aims to determine the supporting and inhibiting factors for student interest in the hospitality department at SMKN 4 Mataram in meeting labor needs in the tourism industry of the city of Mataram and how interested students majoring in hospitality at SMKN 4 Mataram are in meeting the workforce needs in the tourism industry of the city of Mataram. The type of research used is qualitative research with descriptive methods. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews, observation and documentation, involving sources as main informants, namely students majoring in hospitality, alumni of SMKN 4 Mataram students, DU/DI Partners and then as additional informants, namely Hospitality Teachers and the Principal of SMKN 4 Mataram. The results of the research show that based on the results of observations and interviews that the researchers have conducted after analysis, there are 3 factors which are the interests of students at SMKN 4 Mataram majoring in Hospitality, namely internal encouragement factors, social motive factors and emotional factors, then from the results of these factors interest students at SMKN 4 Mataram majoring in hospitality students prioritize being able to learn things about hospitality so that they can be absorbed in the hospitality tourism industry so that they are more likely to be active in activities in the hospitality department and are enthusiastic about learning the competencies provided by the teachers in the hospitality department at SMKN 4 Mataram for the supporting factor, namely field work practice (PKL) so that students can get to know the real world of work during the 6 months of the PKL so they can be immediately absorbed into working at DU/DI, while the inhibiting factor is limited practical materials. which is provided by the school because the students are not charged any fees so that it affects students' interest, thus the completeness of the practical materials itself supports success and the number of classroom facilities is lacking, which makes students have to study in practical simulation rooms, making students feel uncomfortable.
